Goodsmiths Is Hiring!

Goodsmiths is a funded technology startup in Iowa striving to create the largest and most passionate Marketplace for Makers. We are driven by clean design, hard work, passion for our customers and the belief that WORK SHOULD BE FUN.
We are currently looking to fill these roles within our company:

Communications Interns

Development Intern

Communications Interns

  • Are you or will you be a journalism, marketing, PR or communications major, and are currently looking for an awesome portfolio piece?
  • Do you want to build the voice for a growing startup in the Midwest and share it with millions of crafters around the world?
  • Do you have a spare 10 to 15 hours a week?
  • Are you willing to take a chance that we can create something big together?

If you said yes to all four of those, then let’s talk. This will be a chance for you to get in with a new business on the ground level and learn about startup work — it’s fast-paced, it’s exciting, and no two days are ever the same.

We are looking for someone to help us with an ambitious email marketing campaign and execute various marketing initiatives online and on the ground. From the day you start, you’ll be helping to:

  • Define, understand and build relationships with our customers.
  • Research online craft/handmade communities.
  • Develop email content to engage and inspire our users.
  • Research, compile and write content for a daily email campaign.
  • Meet local crafters and be a community advocate for Goodsmiths.
  • Help come up with how-to projects, patterns, tips and ideas for crafty inspiration.
  • Research and join major craft communities and industry leaders, helping provide content and connections for Goodsmiths editorial campaigns.

We welcome students in need of real world experience or needing to fulfill a course requirement. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in digital media and writing — especially with newsletter or slideshow experience. Familiarity with the handmade maker/seller world appreciated.

Most importantly, we need some who has energy and isn't afraid to push the limits when it comes to building something huge.

If you answered yes to all four of those questions, then lets talk. We're just getting off the ground and are looking for a couple additional developers to help build out Goodsmiths with us.
